KNOW YOUR LOAD!
- Forklift Capacity = How much weight a forklift is rated to lift as per the manufacturer & located on the lift truck’s data plate.
- Load Center = Forklifts are designed to carry a capacity load at a standard load center (usually 24″).
- A “longer” load center (i.e. greater than 24″) reduces the lifting capacity of the forklift.
- Lifting Height = How high a forklift can lift– (will often depend on mast type). Remember, the higher you lift a load, the lower the lifting capacity becomes.
- Application = How and where a forklift is being used. This information helps you decide fuel type, tires, attachments, etc.
